Holland Park

Today I took a guided tour of Holland Park, a section of London just west of Kensington and Notting Hill. It's fairly upscale, in the tv show, As Time Goes By, they live in Holland Park. There is actually a Holland Park, named for the family that owned the area. Their house, Holland House is in the park, although it was badly damaged when it took a direct hit in WWII. It was mistaken for Kensington Palace.

The only still standing part of Holland House, it is now a youth hostel

The bombed portion of the house

A hill of daffodils in the park (Global warming is causing all the flowers to bloom early!!)
